In an effort to keep our car rider line tag readers out of the weather, we were blessed to receive the hut from BHS. Special thanks to Matthew Crump who offered to move it from the football field lot to its new home in our car rider line. He is quick to jump in and help the community any way he can. Let’s show him some love and stop by Holy Grounds Coffee Company (located at Buford Crossroads) starting tomorrow morning when they reopen from a well deserved summer break!

I graduated from AJHS in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. After taking half of an academic year to figure out what I wanted to do, I joined the district as a substitute teacher in March of 2021. From there I joined the Indian land High school as a Teacher’s aide in a special education level 3 ( TMD) class. I remained there for 2 years, until I got a job as a teacher’s aide in a k-2nd grade self contained classroom at Erwin Elementary. I stayed there a year, before transferring to Buford Elementary School as a one on one aide/ reading interventionist. This year I am joining Buford Middle and am beyond excited to see where the year takes me!

Hey, my name is Serrah Ballard. I will be the 6th grade math teacher this year at Buford Middle School. Last year, I was a 5th grade teacher at Erwin Elementary. My education background is a bachelor’s in Elementary Education that I received from Converse University in Spartanburg, SC. I am super excited to be able to teach math this year, as it has always been my dream job to teach middle school math. I’m looking forward to this coming school year, Go Jackets!
